The key to connecting with ANYONE is understanding how THEY need to be talked to, not how YOU want to talk to them. As I said in Part 1, my favorite Coach Corey communication rules issss……. “If you know what the animal is…. you know what to feed it!”

If the person you are talking to is a little dry….…asks a lot of very specific questions…. AND asks for documentation before anything else happens…you’re dealing with an ANALYTIC!

ANALYTIC’S are structured thinkers. They are precise…..logical…. and always push back when you try rushing them into an answer.

ANALYTIC’S typically say things like “Show me exactly where credit memo #125-4D was applied” …or directional comments like…. “Underline each line-item number you are referencing, so we can go through them one at a time” ….and they always need time to think…… “Email me a detailed summary so I can process it before I make any decision on this” The key axiom here, is to understand, these types of comments are NOT stall tactics….that’s because facts and figures are literally their love language!

You always want to follow 2 steps with any ANALYTIC.

Step 1 issss….. Stick to the facts! If you want them to make a decision…..you need to give them data….details…and enough time to digests it all.

Step 2 issss…. Don’t push the process! If you pressure an ANALYTIC for a quick answer, you may never get an answer at all. Just say…. “I will list all the specifics in detail in an email, and if you have questions, we can break them down one at a time”

ANALYTIC’S are logical and thorough so always give them a lot of detail and enough time to process everything.

In Part 3, we’ll talk about the EXPRESSIVE personality! These are people who NEED an emotional connection before they cooperate!
