When volume is crushing your team, a checklist isn’t busywork……..its SURVIVAL!

Here is a 4 step, field-tested checklist for accounts receivables teams!

Step one is to challenge YESTERDAY’S broken promises! If you let past promise dates pass without a call or email, you are screaming from the mountaintops “WE DON’T TAKE OUR RECEIVABLES SERIOUSLY”. Challenge the FIRST broken promise on the DAY AFTER it expires, and you’ll be surprised by how many needless follow up calls you eliminate.

Step two is to clear large dollar disputes first | Small disputes can wait but large disputes that go unresolved drag down your DSO big time!

Step three is to create a top 10 cash flow list! What are the 10 outstanding invoices that will have the biggest impact on cash flow? Even ONE unresolved balance from this list could crush your company’s margins, so always keep an active top 10 list on your desk!

Step four is to “schedule call blocks”! A call block is where you take 30-45 minutes and do nothing else but make calls. Your results will skyrocket if you don’t try to multitask and just make calls for a solid 45 minutes!

Checklists sound like a no-brainer but you would be surprised how many people walk in and start their day by just reacting to what is in their inbox. Trust me, creating a daily checklist will make you 25% more productive at your job!
